Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have advanced periodontal disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as impacted teeth), or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.
We use only tooth-colored restorations. Resin is bonded to the teeth creating a tight, superior fit to the natural tooth. The resin used in our restorations contains fluoride, helping prevent decay. The resin wears like natural teeth and is healthy for your gums!
Sealants are a very simple procedure in which an acrylic is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This seals the tooth, protecting the enamel's deep grooves from plaque and food particles that brushing and flossing can't reach. Sealants can last several years.
A denture is an oral appliance which replaces natural teeth and provides support for the cheeks and lips. Most dentures are made of acrylic while the teeth are made of plastic and/or porcelain. Dentures either fit over endodonticly treated teeth or a full denture may attach to implants for a more secure fit.
Porcelain veneers are thin shells that bond directly to the front tooth surface. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and with proper care, will brighten your smile for well over a decade. We ensure that your veneers are crafted from quality porcelain and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available.
Bonding is an alternative to veneers, and can repair teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored or misarranged. A plastic resin is applied and sculpted into the desired shape by the dentist. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before need of repair.
Dental implants are tiny titanium anchors surgically placed into the jawbone. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth. It usually takes three to six months for the implants to fully bond with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the surgeon will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The replacement teeth are then made over the posts or attachments.
For confidence in appearance, bleaching technology allows us to improve "yellow", aging or stained teeth. An custom-fit mouthguard holds the bleach against the teeth. The material is used 3-4 hrs every night for 1-2 weeks. In some cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant.
A bridge (fixed partial denture) is a device, which fills the gap where teeth are absent. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dental professional. Removable bridges, as the name implies, can be taken out and cleaned. Fixed bridges offer more stability than their removable counterparts.
Where damage to a tooth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we use porcelain or porcelain "pasted on gold" crowns to make the smile appear "as new". This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth. It is usual for these treatments to last for 20 to 30 years.
Porcelain veneers that use a non-invasive procedure and last up to 20 years. Lumineers are the quick and simple cosmetic solution for stained, chipped and misaligned teeth. No shots, pain or drilling required.
